Playing for the Bengals or retire, that is the question
Carson Palmer has been a Cincinnati Bengal since he was drafted in 2003 out of USC. Now after another losing season Carson is threatening the Bengals to trade him or he will retire. To the Bengals this is a slap in the face because their Pro Bowl quarterback does not want to return to this team. The Bengals have been through a lot already dealing with Batman and Robin (Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco) and now they have to deal with potentially losing their starting quarterback. If the Bengals want any chance of Carson staying they need to add more talent to try to persuade him to stay. If they fail to do that will want to trade him to at least get some talent in return. Of course the CBA will come into effect with this as well, without a new CBA teams are not allowed to trade players. This has drama written all over it and I feel that the Bengals should be looking for a new quarterback.

I can understand the frustration of Palmer because their team is not winning. Hopefully the Bengals can come up with some type of agreement with Palmer to keep everyone happy.
ReplyDeleteI cant see Palmer just walking away from the game, but if I were on the Bengals I may think about it myself. The owner does nothing to support a winning team and their facilities are garbage. Who wouldnt want out of one of the worst fun franchises in sports
ReplyDeleteHe'll get traded. I believe Palmer will walk away if he has too. Players play first for the love of the game. He has the money, if he isn't enjoying himself why play? The Bengals are going to want to at least get something for him. Bengals are gonna want to draft a QB.
ReplyDeleteI feel bad for Palmer he has always been playing in a division with the stingy defenses of the Ravens and Steelers. I see him going to a team in the NFC west. Either San Francisco where he is from, Arizona who is need of a QB or Seattle where he would be reunited with his college coach Pete Carrol...
ReplyDeleteI think Palmer should grow up and just deal with it. He is a professional football player making millions of dollars and is acting childish. If he wants to be traded then the bengals should do it, but get over it.
ReplyDeleteI understand the frustraion that he has, but that should motivate him to go out there and correct it. They do have some talent on that team (although not much) and I feel as if he is getting paid to be in there and play football, so he should quit complaining and man up.
ReplyDeleteI can't see Palmer leaving the game either. He has worked his whole life to this point he's not just going to walk away that easy.
